Hi! My name is Victoria Berry. I am the owner and director of The Bookkeeper Hub. I’m also an accountant, owner and director of HBA Encompass, and the author of Zest for Success. I’m starting this video series because I’ve realized it’s time to practice what I preach.
The Bookkeeper Hub has been set up for about eighteen months. We’ve got seven clients and we’re not really going anywhere. So here is my office for the moment. Yes, I’m sitting in my car but it’s the quietest place I can find that I will be somewhere at the same time every day when I pick my kids up from school. So what I’m gonna do is create a daily podcast of where we are, what we’re up to, following all the practices of Zest for Success.
The first thing that we did when we started The Bookkeeper Hub is we looked at some planning, a general type of plan as in what we wanted to do, where we wanted to go, and could we afford to get there. We started out as a bit of an experiment. As it’s something that we have bootstrapped ourselves and not done any borrowings for. We looked at the top of the ending that we tryna’ to end of and sort of the company was the best structure for us given our other business efforts. We looked at our target market and we looked at whether we actually had a viable product. Now, we’re pretty lucky because being accountants, we see a lot of business owners and we know there’s a lot of people out there who wanted bookkeepers.
We started The Bookkeeper Hub because we really weren’t happy with the quality of work we we’re getting from some bookkeepers and decided that with the innovations in Xero and some of the add-ons that go with Xero that we could do it better ourselves. So we will go through day by day talking about the actual processes as Zest for Success is sharing with you how we’re growing and what we’re doing and I’ll see you tomorrow
